A woman is more than £2,000 out of pocket after assaulting another woman in London.

Sonia Cooke, of Sharples Hall Street, Waterhead, was in the Hammersmith and Fulham borough of London on June 25 last year when she assaulted the woman.

Cooke, 36, pleaded guilty to assault by beating at Westminster Magistrates' Court on May 3 and was sentenced.

She was ordered to pay a fine of £892, a victim surcharge of £357 and court costs of £775, bringing her total costs to £2,024.

A man has been made to pay more than £1,000 after driving at nearly double the speed limit.

Tomas Stonys, of Merlin Close, Bardsley, was driving a Mercedes on the A607 in Lincoln on January 20 this year when he was found to be driving at 55mph, nearly twice the 30mph limit.

At Boston Magistrates' Court on May 4, he was found guilty in a single justice procedure.

Stonys, 32, was ordered to pay a fine of £660, a victim surcharge of £264 and court costs of £110, bringing his total costs to £1,034, which he must pay by June 1.

His driving record was also endorsed with six penalty points.

A man has been sentenced for failing to provide identification when behind the wheel of a car.

Uwais Hussain, of Pitt Street, Glodwick, was driving a Mercedes in Preston on October 14 last year when he was stopped by a police officer and asked to provide identification.

Hussain, 28, failed to do so and at Preston Magistrates' Court on May 5, he was sentenced in a single justice procedure.

He was made to pay a fine of £660, a victim surcharge of £264 and court costs of £90, bringing his total costs to £1,014, which he must pay by June 1.

He also had six points endorsed on his driving licence.
