Oldhamers will have the chance to get a signed copy of local hero Kevin Sinfield's autobiography when he hosts a book signing event later this month.
The former rugby league player turned rugby coach and fundraiser extraordinaire is releasing his memoir called The Extra Mile on May 25.
To celebrate its release, Sinfield will be attending the book signing event, at Waterhead Rugby Club on Peach Road on Wednesday, May 31.
The event, which is being presented by Waterstones Oldham, will begin at 7pm that evening.
The Extra Mile will see Sinfield detail his childhood growing up in Oldham, his successful rugby career and into his recent fundriasing challenges, which have seen him raise millions for motor neurone disease (MND), the terminal illness that has affected his best friend and former teammate Rob Burrow.
The 320-page read has been published by Cornerstone and will be available to buy at the book signing event, with book sales being provided by Waterstones.
In recent months, Sinfield has been presented with the title of Honorary Freeman of the Borough, the highest award a council can give a person, and completed an ultra marathon challenge which saw him run through the borough he calls home.
