A multi-car crash involving six cars took place on the roundabout near the large Tesco superstore in the Westwood area of Oldham yesterday.

At approximately 5pm on bank holiday Monday (May 8), six cars crashed into one another when driving around the roundabout on Featherstall Road North.

Photographs of the carnage show a multitude of vehicles were damaged while others were facing the wrong way around the roundabout.

Dashcam footage suggests at least one car was hit and spun around in the wrong direction which lead to another collision.

The news comes as residents have complained about 'Wacky Races' around Oldham's roads.

With the latest roundabout crash included, at least nine car crashes have taken place in the month of May so far across the borough.

At the very same roundabout, a car crash took place last Wednesday (May 3) on the approach to Chadderton Way.

Further down Featherstall Road, another car crash occurred last Monday (May 8) where footage appeared to show a driver had missed a red light.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed officers attended yesterday's incident at around 5pm after receiving reports of a car crash involving six vehicles.

The force said there were no serious injuries and the crash has been logged as a minor injury road traffic collision.
