Readers have named the best pubs in the borough.
The Oldham Times asked readers to share their favourite boozers and we have compiled a list of the most voted for in the area.
The George Tavern
Address: 42 George Street, Oldham
The George Tavern, which has previously hosted events over Oldham Pride and is renowned for its stage shows, received a huge number of votes.
One fan of the LGBT pub wrote: “By far the best. Fantastic hosts and fantastic entertainment.”
Buck & Union
Address: 36 Union Street, Oldham
The Buck & Union, which runs regular bingo nights, was chosen as Oldham’s top pub by several voters.
The Fox and Pine
Address: 18 Greaves Street, Oldham
The Fox and Pine, which was announced as CAMRA’s Rochdale, Oldham and Bury Branch Pub of the Year for the second year running last month, also received plenty of votes.
One pub called it the “best in Oldham” and another said that the “friendly” pub has everything including “amazing beer, ale, cider, and cocktails.”
The Tommyfield Inn
Address: 1A Henshaw Street, Oldham
The Tommyfield Inn, which recently ran a series of Easter events, got a swathe of votes from pub fans.
The Spinners Arms, Springhead
Address: Spinners Arms, 38 Woodbrook Road, Austerlands, Springhead, Oldham
The Spinners Arms, which won Best Pub in Saddleworth North in 2021 at the Saddleworth Pub of the Year awards, got a flood of votes from pubgoers.
The Railway, Hollinwood
Address: 13 Railway Road, Hollinwood, Oldham
The Railway pub, which is known for its live music and atmosphere, got inundated with votes.
One happy pug goer commented: “Great choice of drinks, brilliant atmosphere, and a welcoming vibe due to the amazing landlord and landlady and staff.”
Another said: “Nice pint, great food, very good prices, great atmosphere and the pub quiz on a Wednesday is a top laugh.”
Town Hall Tavern
Address: Yorkshire Street, Oldham
The Town Hall Tavern, which runs a darts league, scooped a large number of votes from happy punters.
The Cob & Coal
Address: Tommyfield Market Hall, Albion Street, Oldham
The Cob & Coal in Tommyfield Market, which won CAMRA’s Rochdale, Oldham and Bury Branch Pub of the Year in 2021, also raked in the votes.
One commenter called the pub a “quirky place” that serves “fantastic beer” with a “brilliant” landlord and landlady.
The Dog Inn Chadderton
Address: 1 Block Lane, Chadderton, Oldham
The Dog Inn, a friendly local known for its live entertainment and karaoke, was voted as the best pub by multiple punters.
The Weavers Arms
Address: 172 Huddersfield Road, Oldham
Several voters picked the welcoming Weavers Arms, with its full roster of entertainment, as their favourite pub.
