A pair of Oldham men who are 'lifelong' Latics fans have trekked more than 100 miles through the sweltering Spanish sun to raise money for a cause close to their hearts.
Friends, John McDonald and Mark Adams, decided to hike through the Valencian countryside and its mountain regions to Alicante last month for the charity, Dementia UK, after they witnessed "first-hand" how the disease affected their loved ones.
Following a football theme, being huge supporters of Oldham Athletic, John and Mark set off from the Mestalla Stadium in Valencia for a 107-mile trek to the Hercules CF football stadium, Estadio José Rico Pérez, in Alicante.
Along the way, the duo hiked through and stopped off at a number of beautiful locations, including Algemesi, Xativa, Ontinyent, Banyeres De Mariolia and Tibi.
In all, it took them six days back-to-back to complete the challenge, during which they amassed more than 240,000 steps and averaged around 18 miles per day - all while enduring 30 degrees of the Spanish sun.

John said: "Both of our families have experienced first-hand how dementia and Alzheimer's affect our loved ones and how this has an impact on the families and support networks that care for them.
"With this in mind, we felt it fitting to help raise vital funds for our chosen charity to help support the people who help care for them."
During their walk, family members, Lawrence McDonald and Terry Broadbent, came to join to offer their support.
John's son, Euan McDonald, also came to surprise the pair and joined the team for 35 miles for a stretch of the trek.
Mark added: "We have been overwhelmed with the support we have received through social media and our just giving page.
"We also couldn't have done this without support from Jack Stanton from J.W.S Electrical who sponsored our accommodation and support vehicle throughout the journey."
Their original sponsorship target of £2,500 was soon surpassed by and now stands at more than £3,600 at the time of writing on their JustGiving page.
