Greater Manchester Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit is on the case of another crash after a man in his 80s was hit by a car close to Royal Oldham.

The man was crossing Sheepfoot Lane with a walking frame when he was hit by a Hyundai i10 driving towards Oldham Road at around 8.10am on Monday.

The emergency services attended the scene and a man in his 80s was taken to hospital.

The driver remained at the scene to assist the investigation and no arrests were made.

At around 10.10am on Tuesday, around the corner from Sheepfoot Lane, a woman was hit by a Seat Leon as she crossed Oldham Road.

The woman, also in her 80s, was taken to hospital. An appeal for information about this incident was started by police earlier this week.

The area is also where 16-year-old Alisha Goup was struck and killed six weeks ago.

Two men are accused of causing death by dangerous driving – a charge they denied.

Anyone with information about the incidents on Monday and Tuesday can contact police on 101 or use the LiveChat on gmp.police.uk.

People can also contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
