This alarming image shows a car on its side close to a bus stop and tram station in Oldham.

The emergency services were called to Oldham Mumps at around 1am this morning (April 5).

According to the fire service, two crews from Chadderton and Hollins attended and worked with police for around an hour to move the car and make the scene safe.

They did not comment on the driver involved.

A spokesperson for the fire service said: "At around 1am this morning, two fire engines from Chadderton and Hollins fire stations were called to attend a road traffic collision at Mumps Roundabout in Oldham, involving one vehicle on its side.

"Firefighters arrived and worked alongside colleagues from GMP to move the vehicle and make the scene safe. Crews were in attendance for just under an hour.”

Police did not comment on the incident, saying it was not serious enough to involve the Serious Collision Investigation Unit.
