A young man was reportedly 'stabbed' near an Oldham primary school yesterday and taken to hospital.
Emergency services were called to Littlemoor Lane in Oldham at around 12.15pm yesterday (Monday) to reports a man had been stabbed.
A 19-year-old was treated at the scene by paramedics and was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed two men have been arrested - one on suspicion of assault and the other for assisting an offender.
The pair remain in custody for questioning.
North West Ambulance Service confirmed an air ambulance and a senior clinician were also in attendance at the scene but the patient was taken to hospital by land ambulance.
Members of the public said they saw the air ambulance and "lots of armed police" while the surrounding roads, from Littlemoor School to Shewbury Street and Huddersfield Road, were taped off by a cordon.
