An Oldham man has been sentenced for going on a crime spree in Bury, which included him stabbing a dog and assaulting a woman he was prohibited from seeing.
Samuel McConkie, of Neild Street, appeared at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court on Monday, March 20, where he was sentenced for a number of crimes.
On December 30 last year, McConkie was in Bury when he carried out his offences.
Among his crimes, he stabbed a French Bulldog with a knife, causing it unnecessary suffering.
McConkie, 37, also assaulted a woman who he was prohibited from seeing or contacting due to a restraining order which was in place.
He was accused of have resisting a male police officer in execution of his duty, assaulted a female NHS emergency worker, and caused damage to a police van cage.
But he pleaded not guilty to resisting an officer, assaulting an emergency worker and criminal damage and the prosecution offered no evidence on those counts.
On February 6, McConkie pleaded guilty to animal cruelty, assault and breach of a restraining order.
He was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison for his crimes.
