A popular 'butty shop' in Failsworth has announced it is up for sale at a low price due to ill health in the family.

The sandwich shop, Buttylicious on Oldham Road, has gone up for sale on Gumtree with prices starting on or near £12,000.

The shop, praised locally for its 'all day breakfast' offering, also sells homemade specials Monday to Saturday as well as hot and cold sandwiches that are made fresh to order.

The advert describes Buttylicious as a "well-established business" that is in an ideal location, situated on a busy main road that connects Oldham and Manchester.

The sandwich shop also comes with a five-star food and hygiene rating while all of its equipment will be included in the sale.

The owners have said they would prefer a "quick sale" due to ill health in the family and have asked for "no time wasters or dreamers".

The advert stipulates the sandwich shop benefits from low rent and free rates.

Announcing the sale on social media, residents said it is a "shame" to see the family leave.

A woman wrote: "Oh no, I'm gutted. My favourite butty shop. But you have to do what's best for your family.

"I'll be sad to see you go", she added.

"I love this place", wrote another.
