A popular family-run florist in Oldham which specialises in flower art and design is celebrating almost two decades of success in business.
Oops A Daisies florist on Heron Street in Hollins sells flowers, custom arrangements and gifts with "no job too big or too small".
While the florist specialises in weddings and funerals, it also creates impressive bouquets for all occasions, from Valentine's Day and "marry me" flowers to "sorry" and "just to say" arrangements.
Now, Oops A Daisies has surpassed 19 years since Vickey Walker and her husband, Tony, first opened its doors and the pair have been celebrating the milestone this week.
Vickey said: "I was born and brought up in Hollins - I went to Kaskenmoor Schoool - so I'm a proper local girl and I'm very proud to be in this area.
"It's been 19 years since opening our beautiful little shop.
"That's 19 years of creating gifts, weddings, funerals, sorry flowers, marry me flowers, or just to say flowers.
"I'm extremely proud of everything we have achieved and still love the job as much now as I did when I started training.
"Here's to many more years and lots of happy memories being made", she added.
The talented florist was trained 36 years ago through a youth training scheme at Blooms Florist on Ashton Road where she said she earned just £28.50 a week in wages.
Now in her own well-established shop which she's loved since she was a child, Vickey takes on many special requests for custom-made designs which showcase the breadth of her floristry art skills.
She said she considers it "an honour" to mark people's milestones, whether a first birthday or wedding down to the end of their life for a funeral.
The store itself is even special to Vickey as she said she used to spend her pocket money in what was once a bicycle shop as a youngster.
Vickey said: "We've come full circle now us being here.
"My husband was made redundant and we decided to try and work for ourselves and it has been the best decision we made.
"We worked through Covid doing lots of contactless deliveries and, as our main business is funerals, we did a lot during that time.
"We are very grateful to our lovely loyal customers who have kept us in business all these years."
