The Canadian chain Tim Hortons has released more details on its plans to open an Oldham drive-thru.
In an update today (Thursday) the coffee shop chain announced that the new drive-through on Manchester Road is set to open later this year.
It has also been revealed that the restaurant located at the former Bridgewater Hotel will have dine-in seating for up to 100 guests and delivery options available.
Customers are being told to expect ‘Canada’s favourite coffee’, freshly baked donuts and the brand’s signature Timbits around the clock, as well as breakfast, lunch and evening meal options, including hot sandwiches, burgers and wraps.
The new branch will be the seventh to open in Greater Manchester and is set create more than 50 jobs including a combination of full-time and part-time roles.
Plans for the restaurant were submitted to Oldham Council by Williams Gallagher Town Planning Solutions Ltd in June 2021 and approved in March last year.
The application stated that Tim Hortons opening an outlet at the location would not lead to a "substantial change in the way the premises operates compared to its previous albeit unviable use".
The Bridgewater Hotel closed down in March 2020 "following a sustained period of trading issues".
Kevin Hydes, chief commercial officer of Tim Hortons franchise in the UK, said: “We continually receive requests to open restaurants closer to where our guests are living, so we’re thrilled to reveal our opening in Oldham.
“Having experienced such a strong demand from fans in the area, our new venue offers another location for those in the Northwest to enjoy.
“Greater Manchester has such a great energy with lots going on, and we are proud to be a part of the community, creating over 400 jobs in the area over the last five years.
“We encourage those local to Oldham to keep an eye out for our latest vacancy postings as we prepare to open the new venue. We anticipate this restaurant will be a bit hit, and we look forward to sharing more news soon.”
