An Oldham schoolgirl has secured a place in the semi-finals for Miss Teen Great Britain 2023 where she hopes to represent her town and win the crown for 'football girls'.
Evie Duffy, from Chadderotn, has won a place in the semi-final of the Miss Teen Great Britain competition's Little Miss section for 10-12-year-olds having beaten off competition from across the country.
Teenagers from across Great Britain will compete for the crown in a spectacular grand final held in Blackpool this October.
The winner will walk away with prizes, including a floral bouquet, earrings and beauty treats, a £1,000 cash bonus and more.
The finale is set to be a weekend of fun and activity with finalists enjoying a 'beauty Queen challenge day', a pyjama dive party and more.
Miss Teen Great Britain stresses that the competitions are not beauty contests but form as a platform to "celebrate teenagers, their achievements and their goals".
"This UK pageant is about empowering teens, having fun, making friends and incredible memories", the website adds.
Ms Duffy, who plays for Milnrow Dynamos Saphires girls, said: "I am so excited to have made it to the semi-final, it is a great achievement.
"Making it to the grand final will be a dream come true."
The 12-year-old added: "Fingers crossed I will be able to represent my hometown and all the football girls out there and win the Miss Teen Great Britain crown."
Evie's mum, Donna Duffy, added: "I am really proud that Evie has gained the confidence to do this, it will be a great opportunity for her and it could inspire more girls to take part in the future."
