Eight of Rochdale’s most wanted criminals have been arrested during a police crackdown.
On Friday, officers from Greater Manchester Police (GMP) stormed 20 addresses across Rochdale and arrested eight individuals wanted in connection with breaches of bail conditions and recall to prison.
Six teams including officers from response, offender management units, intelligence, and neighbourhood crime were deployed to locate and detain people who have not been complying with conditions imposed upon them due to their involvement in ongoing court trials or early release from prison on licence.
Inspector Peter Crowe from GMP’s Rochdale district, said: “It is imperative that we are arresting individuals who pose a threat to the communities of Greater Manchester.
“What I would say is if you are subject to any form of bail condition there is an absolute obligation for you to adhere to it, failure to do so will result in your arrest.”
