Oldham Athletic's popular matchday press officer Roy Butterworth has written a new book, with the profits to be donated to Maggie's Oldham.

Roy's previous book, A Fan on the Inside, was released in 2019 and the proceeds raised from sales of the book, which totalled £2,500, were all donated to the cancer charity in 2021.

Now, he plans to do the same with his new book, titled A Journey Down Sheepfoot Lane.

The book includes stories from the decades Roy has spent following the Latics across the country, along with tales with his great friend Gordon Lawton and the inside track of covering games from the Press Box.

It also includes a wide range of historic Latics content, some of which has never been seen before, charting the club’s journey from Pine Villa through to the recent takeover.

The book is available to purchase for £10 from the club shop, where there are signed copies.
