A pizza and prosecco restaurant in Royton said two revellers "ruined everyone's night" by deliberately triggering the fire alarm amid Boxing Day festivities.
The Barclay Pizza and Prosecco, situated on Rochdale Road in the old Barclay's bank, said in a post on social media that two young women dining in the restaurant set off its fire alarm in the evening of Monday, December 26.
According to the restaurant, the pair were captured in the act by its "many cameras" and were seen "laughing" as they did it.
The full post read: "A group of people came out for a nice night on Boxing Day but two young ladies from the group decided to ruin their night, and everyone else's, by setting off our fire alarm.
"Oh, how they laughed when they did it.
"They obviously didn’t look up and see our many cameras catching them in the act - not exactly seasoned criminals these two - so on that note, this has now been reported to the police along with our CCTV."
The restaurant is now encouraging the duo to come forward and liaise with Greater Manchester Police over the incident as "police would like to speak to you", they warned.
The post concluded: "P.S. It's never too late to put things right."
The word of warning was also met by a flurry of commenters from customers who voiced their anger about the incident.
One woman said: "What if their houses were on fire? Do not waste firefighters' time."
Another asked: "Why would you do that?"
Meanwhile, another comment read: "There’s always a few that ruin it for everyone else."
The restaurant and Greater Manchester Police have been approached for comment.
