A popular Italian restaurant in Royton has announced its new building and major makeover has been completed in time for Christmas - with the help of local people.
Mazzo, situated on Radcliffe street in Royton, serves authentic Italian food in an atmospheric fine-dining establishment.
The family joint has been run by two brothers, Meriton and Bislim Hoxha, successfully in the Royton community for eight years.
However, the pair said they purchased the building next door, which used to be a Chinese restaurant, in a bid to go "even bigger and better".
The 'new Mazzo' has been swiftly renovated on time for Christmas with works only just being completed on Friday, December 23.
Meriton said: "We've moved next door now and we've obviously done a massive refurb on the place which has just been completed.
"For Christmas eve, we've got 400 people booked in and we have been working to get it all in place to make sure everybody enjoys it and sees it."
But giving back to the local community is just as important for Mazzo as Meriton said the new design and makeover has been completed by the hands of residents across Oldham, Royton and Shaw.
He said: "We've always wanted to build this place but do it with all our customers involved.
"So the full renovation has been done by local people and customers that we have. Everyone has come together.
"We wanted to put the money back into the local community.
"Oldham can get brushed off as a bad place sometimes and I want to showcase that our little town is amazing - just look what has been created by the people of Oldham.
"Oldham isn't as bad as what people make it out to be and good things do come out of Oldham", Meriton added.
