A pub in Ashton-under-Lyne has had to issue an announcement to settle "rumours" that the establishment faces closure.
The Sycamore, situated on Stamford Square, has announced in a post on social media that "rumours" have been circulating that the pub is closed or will be closing.
However, the pub said the rumours are "completely unfounded and should be ignored".
It said it is still open for business as usual, "complete with functions, entertainment, football and heating" throughout December.
But the post did reveal the owners will be changing hands in the new year after more than a decade at the helm.
"What is true is that after 14 years we will be leaving at the end of January.
"This was a planned decision", the post added.
In the meantime, the pub said it will not close but the change-over will begin in early 2023 and will be "expertly managed by Robinsons brewery".
