Veterans, military personnel and cadets will be able to travel on many buses in Oldham for free tomorrow (November 11) and Sunday (November 13).
First Bus, Stagecoach and Diamond Bus have all said that those travelling on their buses who have served or are actively serving will not have to pay in honour of Remembrance weekend.
Those eligible to travel for free include veterans wearing medals or a veteran's badge and all serving military personnel and cadets in uniform or with military ID.
Both First Bus and Diamond said drivers may pull over and stop to observe the two-minute silence on both Friday and Sunday at 11am.
Armistice Day will occur tomorrow, while most Remembrance services will be held on Sunday, with 11 taking place across the borough.
A spokesperson for First Bus said: "Remembrance Day and Remembrance Sunday are important opportunities for all of us to remember family, friends and others who have been lost in war, whether in service or civilians.
"Many of our employees have served in the military or have friends and family members who are former or active members of the Armed Forces, so this time of year is particularly significant across our depots.
"We hope free travel on our services will make it as easy as possible for as many veterans, Armed Forces personnel and cadets to attend Remembrance services and events in the region."
