Two friends who met at a beauty training college have opened a new salon in Oldham this week, just next door to where it all began.

NTS by Aimee Collette, situated on Middleton Road in Chadderton, had its grand opening ceremony on Monday to mark a new start for the pair.

The salon, owned and run by Aimee Woolley and Collette Woods, offers a wide range of beauty treatments such as acrylic and gel nails, waxing, eyebrows, hybrid and Russian eyelashes, massage, makeup and tanning by the duo.

Aimee and Collette met at the National Training Salon (NTS), just next door to their new establishment, in 2019 having both completed their level 2 and level 3 beauty and nails qualifications at the college.

From there, they both rented a nail desk and worked together at NTS.

However, lockdown took its toll and the owner decided to close the salon part of the business in March this year.

Undeterred, Aimee and Collette then decided to team up and open their own salon together on Oldham Road, having worked so well as a team at the college.

But after a few months, Collette said they had "outgrown" the premises on Oldham Road and decided to find a new place to better accommodate their services.

Collette said: "We found Middleton Road and snapped it up.

"We call ourselves NTS by Aimee Collette as a tribute to where it all began."

The new business sits conveniently next door to the NTS college where the pair continue to teach adults in beauty and nail courses in between running their business.

"It works for us as we all work so closely together", Collette said.

On Monday, the pair opened their new salon in a special ceremony which they said was a "momentous moment for us both".

Collette added: "We really wouldn't want to share this experience with anyone else.

"We have the same passion for nails and beauty."
