A restaurant in Ashton has catered for a cross-party Diwali event at the Palace of Westminster for the second year in a row.
Lily's Vegetarian Indian Cuisine on Oldham Road was invited back to Parliament to serve up its award-winning dishes as part of Diwali celebrations.
The event, which was held by Sir Lindsay Hoyle MP, the Speaker of the House of Commons, was attended by numerous MPs from different parties including Failsworth MP, Angela Rayner.
In a post online, the restaurant said it appreciated the opportunity to be invited back to cater for the prestigious London event while photographs show at least eight members of staff were in attendance for the occasion.
The restaurant said: "Our wonderful Lily’s team ensured that the delicious food we serve in our North West based locations were served and enjoyed by all of the guests who attended the event in Parliament.
"It was also wonderful to hear Sir Keir Starmer and Our local MP Angela Rayner comment on how great our Lily's food was.
"We would like to extend our thanks to Navendu Mishra MP, for recommending us and giving us the opportunity to cater for such a delightful and prestigious event and Cllr Vimal Choksi from Ashton for his support."
