It’s October, so it’s Black History Month – here’s some of the events on offer in Oldham.
Oldham Library

Oldham library will be hosting a few events this month including an author event, Grandad Anansi, by Elayne Ogbeta at 4pm on Wednesday, October 12 at Oldham Library.
Aimed at those aged four to nine, the library will welcome the humorous and heartfelt story of Grandad Anansi to the borough.
The story is of Abi and her Grandad who tell each other Anansi folktales.
Abi and her Grandad play games as they work together in the garden among the beautiful flowers and tasty vegetables.
Pete Kalu and Naomi Kalu (free)
Father-daughter combo Pete Kalu and Naomi Kalu stage night of reading and songs from Pete Kalu's new novel, One Drop from 6.30pm on Tuesday, October 18 at Oldham Library.
Hear from Pete Kalu how he went about creating the novel set in a dystopian UK, with a far-right militia in control and how he collaborated with Naomi in adding a Romeo & Juliet plot into the mix with West Side Story-style songs in the voices of the two in-love radicals, Axel and Dune.
Hear Naomi Kalu sing original songs related to the novel including Don't Look In The Mirror, Heavenly Sky, Home and At the Border.
