No public Wi-Fi will be available later today in Oldham’s libraries and other public buildings.
The Council says the outage is so that essential maintenance work can take place.
Oldham Libraries has confirmed the outage will affect library users too – but as library computers do not use the Wi-Fi, instead being wired in, they remain unaffected.
The Wi-Fi will be down from 5pm until 6.30pm, when it’s expected to return.
Signs have been put up in the libraries to advise them of the outage.
Oldham Council has apologised for the inconvenience caused to users of the service.
