Oldham’s very own ‘taste of Texas’ restaurant has received not one but four separate awards from the Restaurant Guru 2022 awards.

The Old School BBQ Bus, which shot to fame in the borough and beyond after appearing on Come Dine With Me: The Professionals, has received a multitude of awards from Restaurant Guru in four different categories.

Restaurant Guru is one of the most popular 'foodie' websites, compiling reviews, ratings and information about establishments from all over the world.

The categories the Oldham restaurant received an award from include ‘best romantic restaurant in Oldham’, ‘best burgers in Oldham’, ‘best restaurant in Oldham’ and ‘recommended by Restaurant Guru’.

The restaurant, which has its very own specially imported yellow Arizona school bus, only recently completed a dramatic makeover in July – complete with a saloon area and its own branded moonshine – and even hosted its first-ever wedding in August.

In a post online, owner and chef, Mark Fairley said: “We have been awarded not one but four awards from Restaurant Guru, which is amazing.

“I want to thank our amazing OSB team (family) for the continued hard work and commitment as since we appeared on Come Dine With Me: The Professionals we have been continuously busy since.

“We have taken 10 new staff on since and had top open another day, plus having to buy a new walk-in fridge due to the amount of stock we now need to hold due to the demand.

“Also, I want to thank you and everyone who visits us, as without you we would be without four awards today.

“Thank you all for your continued support.

“It’s all about keeping it local.”
