Positive Steps has been chosen as an official charity partner of AFC Oldham.

The charity works with young people, adults, and families to support them with a range of issues, from housing, young carers, work experience, and career guidance.

The charity also operates a bicycle shop, Positive Cycles, in Oldham Town Centre.

Cliff Butau, communications and marketing officer at Positive Steps, said: “We are pleased for this partnership and are glad to have been chosen as an official charity partner by the club.

“An individual at the club that had his daughter work with our Oldham Young Carers nominated us at the club.”

AFC Oldham chairman Dale Harris said: “We are delighted to announce Positive Steps as one of eight charity partners for the club this year.

“Our club has an ethos driven on collaboration and supporting our community.

“Positive Steps, along with the other charities we are supporting, delivers outstanding work in our communities.

“As a football club, we are dedicated to going above and beyond our role to help grow awareness for these fantastic charitable organisations, which then in turn support their work benefiting our local community further.

“Every kit from juniors to adults this year has an official charity logo on its sleeve which has been nominated and voted for by the players of that team.

“Last year we managed to raise over £1500 for club nominated charity Dr Kershaw's Hospice and this year we will be looking to raise more for the charities our players have chosen.”

The other charities supported by AFC Oldham this year are Maggie’s, Dr Kershaw’s Hospice, TOG MIND, POINT, Meningitis Now, Papyrus, Sarcoidosis UK & Cash For Kids.
