Oldham nightclub Liquid and Envy is allowing anyone called Phil or Holly to ‘queue jump’ to get in this weekend.

The special offer is in reference to the controversy created when the duo, who present ITV’s This Morning, received backlash for appearing to jump the queue to see Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II lying-in-state in Westminster Hall.

Sharing a graphic with photographs of Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, the nightclub, located on Retiro Street, added “David, you’ve gotta wait, soz” – a reference to David Beckham, who queued for 13 hours to see the Queen.

The club says that all customers will be asked to provide ID to enter the venue, leaving those planning on a quick name change out of luck.

The queue to see Her Majesty stretched across London to a length of more than 10 miles, with maximum waiting times exceeding 24 hours.

On Tuesday morning’s instalment of This Morning, Holly Willoughby addressed the anger admitting, they “totally understand”.

During the segment looking back over the period of national mourning, Holly said: “Like hundreds of accredited journalists we were given permission to access the hall.

“The rules were that we would be quickly escorted through an entrance and not file passed the coffin.

“None of the broadcasters and journalists took anyone's places in the queue.

“We of course respected their views. Please know that we would never jump a queue.”
