Oldham’s transport operators have confirmed their plans for the day of the Queen’s funeral, Monday, September 19.

Silences will also be observed, with buses and trams stopping at 8pm on Sunday for one minute.

First Bus has advised that drivers will pull over to the side of the road, where safe to do so, and stop the bus until the mark of respect is completed.

Transport for Greater Manchester has confirmed that bus services, including First, will operate to a Sunday timetable on Monday, September 19, the day of the state funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Stagecoach and Rosso also confirmed they will be running a Sunday timetable.

Trams will also be running to a Sunday timetable, with lines running from 7am until midnight at a 12-minute frequency.

This means the first tram from Oldham King Street to Victoria will not be until 7.11am, more than an hour later than usual.

The first tram to Rochdale won’t be until 6.23am, just under an hour later than usual.

Last trams from Victoria to Oldham are just eight minutes earlier than usual.

A two minute’s silence will be observed just before midday on the day of the funeral, with trams stopping at 11.50am, and buses likely to stop too, when safe to do so.

The silence will also be observed at railway stations and transport interchanges.

Oldham bus station will be staffed from 10am until 6pm on the day of the funeral.
