The two people who were arrested yesterday in connection with the burnt down mill on Bower Street which left at least four people dead have been bailed.
On Thursday (August 18) morning, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) arrested two people on suspicion of manslaughter, drugs and organised crime offences after executing warrants at two properties.
They were questioned by police but now, GMP has confirmed the two have been released on bail.
Human remains were found by demolition workers at the mill last month after a fire had taken place there on Saturday, May 7.
Partial human remains have been recovered and one of the victims has since been identified through fingerprint analysis as Uoc Van Nguyen, age 31, from Vietnam.
However, there are three other Vietnamese nationals who were reported missing to GMP on Thursday, July 21, and who may have been inside the mill at the time of the fire.
Detective Chief Inspector Gareth Davies, of GMP’s Major Incident Team, said on Thursday: "These arrests are part of our enquiries to establish why Uoc and three other, currently unidentified, individuals were in the mill during the fire.
"We are making progress but our investigation is very much ongoing."
