Firefighters spent Monday (July 11) night tackling a blaze which broke out near Dovestone Reservoir.
A statement from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, said at approximately 11pm, firefighters were called to Bank Lane in Greenfield in response to reports of a fire.
In total, 10 fire stations from across Greater Manchester were called to the incident.
There were four large seats of fire in a woodland area.
As of Tuesday morning, firefighters were using hose reels and lighting to bring the fire under control.
Fire crews remained in attendance at this time dampening down the area.
An investigation is underway to establish the cause of the fire.
It comes just a night after firefighters were forced to attend a fire which broke out at Yeoman Hey Reservoir on Sunday night.
That fire, just north of Dovestones, saw fire engines from four stations called, with fire crews in attendance for roughly three hours.
