A woodland blaze at a reservoir in Saddleworth took firefighters around three hours to tackle yesterday (July 10).
The fire service were called to Yeoman Hey Reservoir, north of Dovestone Reservoir, at around 7pm on Sunday.
Firefighters from Oldham, as well as from Ashton, Bolton North and Stalybridge, attended the reservoir and extinguished the woodland blaze.
They dampened down the area to make it safe and were in attendance until around 10pm.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “Just before 7pm yesterday (10 July) firefighters were called to reports of a fire in an area of woodland close to Yeoman Hey Reservoir.
“Crews from Oldham, Ashton, Bolton North and Stalybridge fire stations arrived quickly at the scene.
"Fire crews used hose reels and specialist equipment to swiftly extinguish the fire before dampening down the area to make it safe.
"GMFRS were in attendance for just over three hours.”
