Manchester Airport has been named as the least reliable airport in the UK, according to research from the adventure holiday provider The Bucket List Company.
The study looked at the percentage of flights delayed, average length of delays, number of flights cancelled, average review rating and social ratings, which were all ranked in order to determine the most & least reliable UK airports from the past 12 months.
UK airports in general have seen a huge number of flights delayed or cancelled, which has created chaos on numerous days at many airports.
Taking this into account for the past 12 months, Manchester Airport was found to be the least reliable in the study, with 51 per cent of flights delayed in that time period.
Additionally, it had an average delay length of 11 minutes and a total of 1,347 cancelled flights.
What was the most reliable airport in the UK?
In comparison to Manchester, Belfast International Airport was judged to be the most reliable in the UK.
For the last 12 months the airport has only seen 33 per cent of flights be delayed, with an average delay time of 6 minutes, and only 37 flights cancelled in total.
Meanwhile, London Heathrow came just behind Manchester in the 'least reliable' category, which saw 48 per cent of flights delayed, an average delay time of 12 minutes and 4,774 cancelled flights in the past year.
