One of Manchester's most popular nightclubs is set to shut down this weekend, as confirmed by former Inspiral Carpets keyboardist Clint Boon.
The club was launched in 1995 and has become a popular basement venue to people all around Greater Manchester.
Boon, who is originally from Oldham, confirmed the news about the club on his Twitter account on Thursday (June 2).
He wrote that the club had been his "second home for well over 20 yrs and it’s been a massive part of the Boon family’s journey".
The former keyboardist, now known for DJing and presenting on radio, said the club was closing because of issues out of the control of himself, the management and the owners.
2/2 @South_Club has been my second home for well over 20 yrs and it’s been a massive part of the Boon family’s journey. Please join us on Saturday for our closing night. Needless to say, it’ll be a big send off and probably an emotional one! Lotsa love xxx https://t.co/CciEblBXpM
