We asked The Oldham Times readers if they faced problems with pavement parking and where the worst spots in the borough were.
Areas that were named and shamed included Grains Road near Delph, with Mike Tierney saying the situation was so bad a few years ago he had to turn sideways to squeeze through.
Sharing a picture of cars blocking the pavement, he wrote: "Just up the hill a bit from Delph on Grains Road, April 2019. I had to turn sideways to get between pole and wall and I'm just 175lbs."
Lisa Pryce described the whole of Failsworth as a 'nightmare' for pavement parking, especially during school run times.
For Carl Molloy it was Ashton Road that was a problem area, writing: "People with prams and mobility scooters have to go onto the road to get around it’s shocking really to say there’s an empty car park one min walk away."
Danyele L. Hidderley, meanwhile, commented: "Hadfield Street and Schofield Street are terrible with folk parking on the pavement for the Honeywell Centre. Hard for people with prams."
For Martin Fleming there was a distinction needed between types of pavement parking.
He said: "I can't see a problem where the car is parked with just two wheels on the pavement with room left for pushchair, wheelchair and pedestrians, what really gets me is parking all four wheels on the pavement completely blocking the footpath.
"Parking on grass verges should be discouraged, we have to pay to maintain those verges and the damage caused by inconsiderate parking."
Anita Taisie Gates said on her road there was no way for motorists to leave space, commenting: "Have no option on our street the road is that narrow and so is my driveway!"
Not everyone has experienced the problem, however, with Joan Frost writing: "Not on my road.
"The road is very narrow but the pavements are very wide and people leave plenty of room for wheelchairs, prams etc."
