Two of Oldham's MPs are included on a list of MPs who have been sanctioned by the Russian government.
Jim McMahon, MP for Oldham West and Royton, and Debbie Abrahams, MP for Oldham East and Saddleworth, were named on the list of almost 300 MPs.
The move has been done in retaliation to members of the Duma in Russia being sanctioned by the UK government following the invasion of Ukraine.
The sanctions state that those on the list cannot visit Russia from now on.
On Wednesday (April 27) afternoon, Mr McMahon reacted to being named by writing on Twitter: "Finding myself on the Kremlin ban list cannot be a distraction from our collective focus to give the Ukrainian people the means to defend themselves through these horrendous times."
Meanwhile, Ms Abrahams said in a statement: "Although I've been given no reason for being sanctioned I'm assuming it's because I champion and speak up for human rights and the rule of law, which President Putin - and others - seem to think doesn't apply to him.
"But it may also be because I've called out Putin, his oligarch friends and their enablers for their various misdemeanours. Despots like Putin are unable to take criticism."
"Anyway, it will make no difference to me, and won’t stop me speaking truth to power."
There have been some errors spotted on the list, with Conservative MP Heather Wheeler included twice, meaning although there are 287 entries, only 286 names have been listed.
The list also misspells Alun Cairns' name as 'Alan' and names three people who are no longer MPs.
