A Saddleworth village has raised a remarkable £5,200 cash bonanza thanks to a creative squad of colourful handmade scarecrows.
The scarecrows have been the centrepiece for an amazing fundraiser by the Friends of Diggle School (FODS) who were on a mission to support initiatives at the school.
The 29 exhibits linked to a film theme featured outside homes and businesses and were woven into the Diggle community.
Trail organiser, Tracy Buckley, said: “It took two to three hours to complete the trail without stops.
"You could easily have a full day out though if you stop for the park, ice cream, food and drinks. We’ve had marvellous support from everyone - the result has been a terrific team effort.
“We are raising money for a trim trail, an outdoor natural play equipment area to be installed at school and new sports equipment.”
