ALL of these cases involving people from Oldham have been before magistrates recently.
A man has been ordered to pay almost £700 in costs after breaching an enforcement notice by not closing down a car dent repair business.
Jordan Hibbert, of Chadderton Hall Road, continued to operate his car dent repair business, based on Moreton Street, Chadderton, between September 10, 2021 and October 8, 2021.
This was after he had been handed an enforcement notice by the council in July 2021 that required him to permanently stop using the land for his business by September 10.
At Tameside Magistrates' Court on April 7, Hibbert pleaded guilty to the breach.
He was fined £346, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £35 and made to pay court costs of £300, bringing his total to £681.
An Oldham man has been fined hundreds of pounds after he used a dead person’s disabled to park in the city centre.
Michael Sempey, of Pretoria Road, used the expired blue badge to park his Audi Q5 in a pay and display area on Manchester’s King Street in July of last year.
Accused of fraud by false representation for the offence, Sempey admitted to the charge at Manchester Magistrates’ Court on April 7.
The 37-year-old was fined £384 and also ordered to cover costs of £238.
Sempey has until until May 5 to pay the total of £622.
An Oldham woman has been made to pay hundreds of pounds for driving five miles over the speed limit.
Charlotte Whittle, of Fox Park Road, Oldham, was driving on North Road in Cardiff on October 4, 2021 when she reached a speed of 35mph, exceeding the speed limit of 30mph.
At Cardiff Magistrates' Court on April 12, Whittle, 29, was made to pay a fine of £220, a victim surcharge of £34 and court costs of £90.
She also had three points endorsed on her driving record.
An Oldham woman has been made to pay costs for failing to properly dispose of household waste.
Chelsea Warburton, of Beresford Street, Oldham, pleaded guilty at Tameside Magistrates' Court on April 7 of not taking the right measures to transfer the waste properly.
She was made to pay a victim surcharge of £22 and court costs of £38, totalling at £60.
