NEW videos of a cat that resembled a ‘walking skeleton’ show the moggy with a new lease of life.
The black cat, who has now been named Kendrick, was brought into Pennine Pen Animal Rescue last month after being found severely emaciated in the Greenacres area.
Kendrick, who had also suffered a lot of hair loss, was discovered to not be microchipped or neutered.
In a Facebook post published last week, that included a new video of Kendrick, the shelter wrote: “Some good news.
“A little update for you on Kendrick the emaciated boy from a couple of weeks ago.
“He started off at 2.67kg and was literally a walking skeleton.
“He now weighs in at 3.36kg and is still thin but is looking so much better.
“He is no longer eating his meals like they are his last and he's not growling at us anymore he is purring when we stroke him while he eats.”
Pennine Pen, which was founded by Michael Waugh in 2001, provides sanctuary to unwanted or abandoned animals while trying to find them a forever home.
