An application to convert a semi-detached property into a seven-bedroom house in multiple occupancy (HMO) has been approved despite dozens of objections.
The address on Ashton Road West, Failsworth, will look to host professionals and the applicant is said to have a number of other units in the area.
The original plans included a double-height extension at the rear of the property, however, that has now been changed to a 2.3m extension to the rear.
Despite the change, many residents in the area are still against the proposal, with 38 total comments of objection being left.
The main concern amongst those who left comments is that there is a lack of sufficient parking facilities in the area.
The comment said: "This is a residential street with insufficient parking for the current residents."
The application points to a car park on Ashton Road West at the Tesco Extra as a large parking facility for residents, however, residents remain unconvinced.
The other major concern was the high number of HMOs already existing in Failsworth, which commenters said has left services such as GPs and dentists stretched.
They feel the introduction of another HMO would have a further strain on these services.
One commenter wrote: "We do not want any more HMOs in Failsworth, the strain on doctors [and] dentists is not good."
Another said that "getting a doctor's appointment is incredibly difficult".
The applicant said it is looking to invest "a large amount of money into the property", refurbishing the entire building and looking to make each bedroom an en-suite.
The property is a 10-minute walk from Failsworth Metrolink stop and the proposal says there is a bus stop close by with regular services to Manchester city centre.
A bicycle storage unit is set to be created as part of the plans and building cannot commence until a scheme for the provision of the bike parking has been implemented.
