A YOUTUBE star and international competitive eater has smashed the Super Six Belly Buster breakfast challenge at the Black Ladd pub in Shaw.
Beard Meats Food completed the mighty challenge in a record 13 minutes before tucking into his usual cheesecake for dessert.
A total of 54 items of food are included in the challenge – six portions each of sausages, bacon, eggs, toast, French toast, hash browns, tomatoes, mushrooms, and black puddings, along with a large tray of beans.
Those successful in clearing the plate within 30 minutes can walk away without payment but the rest must pay the price - £29.95.
The YouTuber visited the pub on Buckstones Road last Thursday after being tagged in the pub’s challenge by customers on social media.
Pub owner Paul Mahon said: “He booked under a different name, so we didn’t know he was coming in.
“He paid a massive compliment to our chefs. He said ‘I do these challenges all the time and it’s usually crappy food and lots of it but the food here is a credit to the chefs’.
Last month Oldham Times reporter James Mutch also attempted the challenge.
He said: “When the giant serving of The Black Ladd's Super Six Belly Buster was placed in front of me, I knew finishing it within the 30-minute time limit was well beyond my eating and digesting capabilities."
Ten minutes into the challenge he realised he would ‘struggle to even finish half of it’.
Later that day, a young lad raced through his "Belly Buster" in 23 minutes, becoming the first person to complete the challenge.
He is in the running to win a £50 gift voucher, which will be awarded to the person who completes it in the fastest time.
The fry-up challenge follows the pub’s 100oz steak challenge in November, which no-one managed to conquer, although one came close – eating 90oz of the meat.
The Black Ladd is set to feature on Beard Meats Food’s YouTube channel in the coming weeks.
To put yourself forward for the Super Six Belly Buster, a pre-booking must be made.
