MORE than 600 coronavirus cases have been found in Oldham, figures have revealed.
Government data released today shows that 626 Covid-19 cases have been discovered in the town.
The statistics in the week up to January 7 shows a total of 4,981 cases were detected in Oldham.
This means the rate per 100,000 people who tested positive for the virus in Oldham up to that date was 2,096.1. The UK average was 1,736.8.
Meanwhile, there were 129,587 coronavirus cases found in the UK in the past 24 hours.
A further 398 people died after testing positive for Covid-19 in the previous 28 days.
