A FURTHER 473 coronavirus cases have been found in Oldham in the last 24 hours, figures have revealed.
Data published by the government also shows that a total of 4,701 Covid-19 cases were discovered in the borough in the seven days up to New Year's Eve.
The number of people per 100,000 in Oldham who produced a positive test up to that date was 1,978.3, higher than the average of 1,725.
There have now been 57,049 cases in the town since the start of the pandemic.
Meanwhile, across the UK, an extra 194,747 cases have been reported.
A further 334 people have died after testing positive for coronavirus in the previous 28 days.
