An Oldham pub has announced an eating challenge involving a 100oz steak that has to be eaten within an hour.

The one-person challenge at The Black Ladd Pub on Buckstones Road, Shaw, involves eating the enormous steak along with onion rings, mushrooms, tomatoes and a plate of chips within an hour.

If you are successful, the meal is free but those who fail have to cough up £59.95 for the meal.

The pub shared a post on Facebook that showed the result of the first contestant. Although the man gave it a good go, he was unsuccessful.

Customers interested in taking on the challenge need to give the pub at least 24 hours notice so they can reserve the steak. The challenge can be competed in from Monday to Thursday each week.
