A BOMB squad was sent to Failsworth yesterday after a suspected grenade was found at a house.
Specialist officers were sent to Kew Road at around 10.10am after a report that a "suspected historic grenade" had been discovered.
A cordon was set up as police examined the device before a controlled explosion was carried out.
A resident shared pictures of police vehicles in the area.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: "At around 10.10am on Wednesday, police were called to a report that a suspected historic grenade had been found at a property on Kew Road, Failsworth.
"A cordon was put in place and bomb disposal officers carried out a controlled explosion of the device."
