A WOMAN has been arrested after a video emerged on social media reportedly showing a racial hate incident.
Police in Tameside said they are aware of the video which shows an incident that happened in Stalybridge and officers have received a high volume of calls relating to it.
Greater Manchester Police has praised the public for reporting the video and confirmed a woman was arrested on Wednesday.
A Greater Manchester Police Tameside spokesman said: "Video circulating social media.
"We are aware of a video circulating social media relating to a racial hate incident in the Stalybridge area of Tameside.
"We continue to receive a high volume of calls relating to this video.
"We thank you for reporting this, we reassure you we are dealing with this incident.
"A female was arrested in relation to the incident, yesterday evening."
