PLANS have been approved to turn a former pub in Oldham into apartments, the council has revealed.

A change of use application to convert The Friendship Inn site on Manchester Road into five apartments has been granted by the local authority.

Each apartment will have a living and kitchen area, a number of bedrooms, bathroom or shower room and built-in storage, according to the proposals that were submitted to Oldham Council.

The plans state that a new rear dormer extension will provide accommodation at on the second floor level.

The application was lodged with the local authority in December.

And the council confirmed on Wednesday that it has approved the application.
