A WOMAN is in hospital after being hit by a car on Featherstall Road.
North West Ambulance Service rushed to reports of a crash involving a car and pedestrian on Featherstall Road in Oldham last night.
A spokesperson from the ambulance service said: “We were called to reports of a road traffic accident involving a car and pedestrian on on Featherstall Road, Oldham at 6.46 pm.
“A number of emergency vehicles attended the scene including an ambulance and air ambulance.
"We have taken a woman in her 50s to hospital with a serious head injury, by road.”
Pictures circulating on social media appear to show multiple police vehicles at the site of the accident and air ambulance on standby outside the Oldham Central Masjid and Islamic Centre on 88, Featherstall Road.
Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for more information.
