A MAN of 28 has been given a 24-week prison sentence suspended for two years for committing an assault on a man which knocked him unconscious.
Benjamin McHale, of Palm Grove, Chadderton, assaulted the man causing actual bodily harm on November 25, 2018.
At Tameside Magistrates' Court, McHale originally denied the offence, but later changed his plea to guilty
The sentence was also imposed because the McHale was in drink and he attacked a member of staff carrying out duties under the Licensing Act.
He must also carry out 200 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months and must pay £200 compensation, costs of £450 and £115 to victim services.
