MYSTERY is surrouning a late night incident which is believed to have involved three cars destroyed thousands of pounds worth of fencing and wrecked gates at a moorland farm.
It happened on the A635 Greenfield-Holmfirth road last Friday night when a one car was seen on CCTV to turn over at least three times before coming to a halt on the way into Greenfield.
And the footage shows car drivers stopping to assist at the scene and farmers have taken to social media asking if anyone was driving past at the time of the incident. They fear someone is badly injured due to the blood covered towel left at the scene.
One of the farmers said: “The incident happened at 11.02pm, with at least two cars crashing through fencing and gates at the farm. The damage was unreal.
“Afterwards, head torches appeared and it took until 12.34am to remove the cars and they cleaned up any evidence of them crashing.
“One car is seen on our CCTV flipping over at least three times before stopping. Cars can be seen stopping to assist, hence asking if anybody was driving past at the time?
“ We fear someone is badly injured due to the blood covered towel left at the scene and police/ambulance were never notified. Any information will be greatly appreciated.”
GMP said: “We only found out the next day from a third party. When we arrived everything had been cleared or removed.
‘As a result we have nothing to investigate as it is classed as a damage only road traffic accident as no one has reported any injuries.”
