TWO £1 million prizes won on lottery tickets bought in the same town for the same draw have been claimed.
National Lottery bosses had urged people in Oldham, Greater Manchester, to check their Lotto numbers after two tickets bought in the borough won in the draw on August 8.
Both prizes have now been claimed and are going through the validation process, a spokesman for Camelot UK Lotteries Limited said on Monday.
Andy Carter, senior winners’ adviser at the National Lottery, said: “This is incredible news – one draw, one town and an incredible two £1 million Lotto prizes that have now been claimed.
“It’s fantastic to be able to bring a little bit of cheer to the area with this news.
“We will now focus on supporting the ticket-holder or ticket-holders through the process.
“We’re continuing to encourage all National Lottery players to check their tickets, either online via the National Lottery website or, as the current situation allows, in their local store.”
Checks will be carried out and once the prize money has been paid, the lucky winner, or winners, can decide whether to go public.
