THREE men and a teenager have been arrested on suspicion of murder following a fatal stabbing in Oldham yesterday.
Three men aged 20, 20 and 22, and a 15-year-old remain in police custody for questioning after they were arrested late yesterday evening.
It follows the discovery of a man,believed to be in his 20s, with multiple stab wounds on Waterloo Street, near to Charters Jewellers.
Police were called to reports that a man was unconscious and not breathing at around 3.20pm.
He was taken to hospital where he sadly died.
Senior Investigating Officer Detective Superintendent Nicky Porter, said: “Although the investigation is making good progress, it remains in its early stages. “I appeal to anyone who may have witnessed what happened yesterday or who has any information to contact us.
“A large cordon remains in place and I am grateful for the support the local community and the hospitality they have shown to officers, some of them keeping them supplied with hot drinks during a very wet night.
“My foremost thoughts are with the family who have suffered this tragedy and they continue to be support by specially trained officers.”
